For Our Brothers With Wives And Girlfriends

For Our Brothers With Wives And Girlfriends

I happened upon this post titled ‘5 Signs That Says He Is Gay’ and I decided to share for our MGM and MBM, you know, things you should or shouldn’t do so the woman in your life stays oblivious to your secret (Yes, I’m nice like that, lol). Anyway, here are supposedly five ways a woman can tell that her man is gay.  According to the original article, it is not only females; some men wonder if their colleagues, friends, teammates or brothers are gay or not too.

5. Bathroom Fixesgay1This might come off as stereotypical but this is quite true; gay men take a lot of time in the bathroom to get ready. If you want to know if somebody is gay, just take a look at their bathroom rituals. They will spend hours inside that room trying to get “ready”. They will shave, use hair products, facial products, and fix their hair and their dress several times before coming out. Sure, it is good to make an effort to look good, but if he owns more grooming products than an average lady, then he is gay.

4. TV Showsgay2Gay men like TV shows that has a female touch to it or has a lot of things that are somewhat gay. They will take great interest in shows like beauty pageants, any kind of shows that deal with makeup do-overs and glamorous stuff. Gay men also love shows that have a lot of drama in it and over-the-top flair added to it. If they are watching a show that has iconic gay men in it, then be sure of the fact that he is gay.

3. Eyesgay3No matter how committed a man is, they will check out another lady when out in public. It is like a human instinct; you cannot help it but give a glance. However, if you are with a gay man, then notice him carefully; he is likely to look more at men than at woman. In fact, if a really hot looking woman stands in front of him, he probably wouldn’t even notice it. But if there is a hot, well-built man walking by, watch his eyes follow that man from side to side.

2. Complimentsgay4If you are really confused as to whether a guy in question is gay or not, listen closely to the way he compliments you or anyone else. A straight man will probably say something like “you look good” or “that girl looks hot”. A gay man, however, will go the distance and make sure you really know what it is that he liked about you. He will say “that shirt really brings the color out of your eyes and goes perfectly with those skinny jeans but those nails need a bit of varnish to go with that Smokey eye look.” Yes, believe it or not, they will say something like this. Gay men are often the fashion gurus themselves and they don’t hold back when it comes to style.

1. Viewsgay5A straight man would probably not care about gay rights and all that. In their words, they just don’t understand a gay person. They think a man should be attracted to a woman and that’s how it should be. They really don’t have anything personal against gay men. But a gay man, however, will talk about gays in a different manner. They will talk about their rights, the troubles they go through and how the society should accept them. If somebody talks like that about gay people, then be sure that person is secretly gay too.

@Chuck My commitment to shaving is an indication that ‘I am TRYING to be hairless (where it matters)’, not ‘I AM hairless’

        @Delle Infact, me sef shock

TV shows I watch – Game of thrones, HTGAWM, Empire, Daredevil, The Originals, The Vampire Diaries, The Flash(I’m through with that though), Power, Strike Back, amongst others. And a couple of my friends watch all those shows too. I should have know they are all gay, the way they love Empire and HTGAWM (which contain iconic gay characters).
Serious load of crap this post.

That staring part has to be d worst of them all! Jisox! Its so bad that I sometimes have to turn round to stare. My dad noticed it and confronted me about staring too much. But I can’t help it. I’m not even sure if me driving is safe cos I go still look oh. My middle name is Onyokometer.

As for the rest **shrugs**, that one is normal thing joor.

Hahahahahahahahahahaaa @Onyokometer. My brother, that was the first thing I considered when I was in my decision making phase of never getting married. My Onyokometer abilities are too highly carried for me not to be nabbed one day by my wife.

I think it’s an Igbo slang for one who is a looku-looku. Always staring at anything of interest that passes you by.

Guess I’m an Onyokometer ??. I can literally stare the clothes off a person. And heaven help you If you are soooo attractive, I will look so hard, I’d see your reproductive organs

This post is just generalising anyhow. I’m gay and I don’t spend eternity getting dressed. I don’t even have time for all the rub-rub I see some friends do. “Shows with a lot of drama in it”? Unless that has become the definition of action movies. When it comes to that eyes own sha. We are all criminals there, aren’t we? I can’t let a cute guy walk by without tagging my eyes on him. Compliments? My friends know I hardly compliment. When I see you look good I just see it. 90% of the times I don’t say it. But when I say it I don’t make it sound like a theory. Warris varnish sef? Jeez! All the specificity there is killing. I don’t have time for that where girls and guys are. And j know straight guys who are deeply passionate about gay rights in this country (maybe because their friends are gay or something) but they won’t stand any expression of homophobia.

I don’t think this post was intended to be taken seriously. (Well I hope it wasn’t). Because this is up there with other stereotypical ish I’ve come across.
I can relate to 4 out of the 5 things written and I’m not a man or gay.

None of these applies to me except nos 3 which only applies to an extent. I can even decide to shut my eyes to any guy that walks by and lust over any hot lady. She need to even be really hot

This post was meant to generate some sort of negative feedback and draw comments since its filled with stereotypes which is a very narrow way of trying to identify gay people.

I’m sure all of us here know at least one straight man who has all these traits.

LMAO! #2 is kinda true. Just a few minutes ago, I almost told my colleague the dress she’s wearing today goes perfectly with her skin tone. But just settled for “You look good” because I’m hungry. *Phew* dodged the bullet there.

Numbers 5 and 4 are the only ones I agree with to an extent (although, I know some very gay guys that shower like Flash).
    The last point though *rme*.
It’s not all gay men (except some flamboyant ones) that are fashion crazed enough to give a complimentary speech.
Stereotypes. I’m sure our supposed ‘straight-acting’ or quite recently, ‘ultra-straight acting’ guys would have a very good laugh at this.

There are straight men that have some of these characteristics. I think life is complicated, there’s no sure way to tell gay from straight from curious from in-between. But fun read tho!

I come across articles like this quite a lot. Filled with stereotypes. I don’t think its meant or should be taken seriously.
Besides one or two of the stereotypes usually rings true. ?
Not everytime time get offended , sometimes just laugh and pass. ?

But it’s genuinely not funny. I know funny, you know funny and we both know this is not even close to funny. I’m not offended by the stereotyping, it’s just not funny.

Hey guys, guess what? If she married you or is dating you, she probably doesn’t care. One more thing, this gaydar’ thing is kinda exclusive to gay people.

One major tip I might add, if she has gay male friends, you might be in dangerrrr gurl.

This was obviously written by a straight man who thinks he understands gay men and is probably proud of the fact that he “understands” and feels very enlightened.

Lol. Exactly my thinking, this! Some straight guy or girl penned this with the self satisfaction that he’s figured gay men out. So oh, let him share his wisdom, his knowledge with the world.
