Married Father Comes Out As Gay In A Video

In this inspiring video, 25-year-old Ben Hobson shares the story about his journey to living as his authentic realized self as a gay man — and a married father.

Hobson tells the viewer that his mother died nearly six years ago, and shortly thereafter he married his wife and the pair had two children. However, despite having what he considered to be the “perfect family,” the father of two developed a heavy drinking problem.

After getting sober, he realized the root of his unhappiness: he is, in fact, a gay man.

Check out the video below to witness Hobson’s heartwarming story firsthand.

Why didn’t he start this journey before he got married?

There’s no knowing what circumstances led to him getting married.

I guess. But we know the circumstances his wife and kids are in right now thanks to his thoughtlessness/selfishness.

Exactly. Is it preferred for him to to keep his homosexuality a secret and hurt his family more by sneaking around?

Pink Panther I applaud him and all for coming out but my issue is with the fact that his wife wasted her youth on this knob and brought 2 lives into the world based on a lie. I’m pretty sure he didn’t live twenty something years of his life as a heterosexual and suddenly wake up gay. And it’s a video he could just have fucking talked.

I know what you’re saying about the wife, but you sound very insensitive to whatever pressure or circumstance the man may have been going through, considering you don’t even know what led him to living a lie. That’s what galls me. In empathizing with the wife, you end up acting judgmental of the man.

Did you read this comment before you posted it? I’m pretty sure learning that the past 5 years of your life were based on a lie isn’t something anyone’s going to be happy about.

Errrr Martinwhatever@yahoo.com, really don’t see any teeth in Pink Panthers reply. And yes Pink Panther I’m gay and Nigerian. Note that I wasn’t against his coming out. I was against his getting married in the first place. I don’t see anything inspiring in this story all I see is how 1 Narcissistic Ahole ruined 3 lives. Wonder how many guys he fucked on his marital bed when his wife wasn’t home. Danke 🙂

That said, were your eyes too blinded to see the part where he wrote about drinking to numb his feelings? ‎Unu anukwa m eshishi biko!!! What part of says to you, “in the meantime I was bringing men home to fuck on the bed I fuck my wife”? Da hell!!! Umm… he may have come from an ultra conservative/religious family where he (like most of us here) felt pressured to marry… he saw no other choice but to give in to the pressure … with disastrous consequences as we can see …

Thank you very much, Ken. It’s easy to pompously declare the man selfish and thoughtless for getting married when he must have known he was gay. Very easy. So easy you forget what situations apply to our sexualities and the society.

You know. .I completely agree with you, Caligula. I don’t know how someone can suddenly have an epiphany of being gay, 2 kids and a marriage after . Didn’t he have the slightest inclination dt he might like boys before he rushed into marriage? I can’t stand impulsive people. and this guy. ..who ever he is, is impulsive. 5years down the line he might have a sudden epiphany yet again that he is into animals. .

And he made a video again. .I mean. .girl just sit down pls.

Thanks Chizzie. I actually sent this post to a few NIGERIAN GAY friends and they were really puzzled by the comments.
Pink Panther I personally don’t see myself getting married and I know several gay guys who either at the age of 40 are still not married and don’t plan on giving in to societal pressure or told their wives from the beginning. Not everyone is weak willed and considers the opinions of others or society in general important.

        • Sorry I don’t have a vagina. I have a dick, you know, the type you see and start thinking from your anus, the type you’re so very annoyed that the man wasted on a woman instead of on your wart-ridden, shit-filled asshole. You face ridicule and discrimination from family, friends and society then you will understand the powerful sway thay society has on us all …for now, keep ranting

All of y’all busy arguing, I am just admiring the dude. He is sooooo cute.

On a serious note though, I get his story, we all have various paths and journeys to take to become okay with who we are. His took him a long while and a detour but he got there. Am happy for him and hope his wife moves on and finds someone who can truly care for her the way it seems she deserves to be.

I love all the criticism about my life! Thanks for all the feedback. I actually have a past history of impulse problems when I was in my teenage years. The night before I told my wife, I told my best bi-friend and best gay friend that I thought I might be gay and I wanted to tell my wife. They told me to stay in the closet and think about it some more. I told them I had been thinking about it really hard for the past two months and I wanted to just come out already. Ask my ex-wife if she thinks I should’ve stayed in the closet…

I am in LOVE with this dude!
He is OVERFLOWING with maturity. See how he thanked us for the criticisms; see how he owned up about impulsiveness; observe that he asks YOU to ask his wife if he should not have come out (showing that they were understanding of each other, meaning she wants the best for him meaning he probably treated her right while they were married), see that he’s a man of great courage and honesty (he is probably bisexual and could have lived in pretence BUT NO!; observe his economy of words after all the harsh criticisms!

      @Bitches, LOOK AND LEARN!
@Ben: If this is really you, THANK YOU!

We are our own problem, see how you all attacked someone for sharing his experiences with the world, some judged, other brought stupid opinion, we ask the world not to judge us, but can even stand our own story shared by a brother, learn from it and move the fuck on without attacking him.
The brave man here is the man who shared his story, most of (us) have love and accept our selves first before others can accept and love u for who and what you are.the young man saying the guy ruined 3 lifes, have you met his family? Have they told you they hate him.take your brain out of your ass. Thanks for sharing again ben
