PRISM PRISON

PRISM PRISON

I am the red of my rage

With it, I fight this cage

And I am the yellow of my fear

Through it, my path is clear

I am the orange of my greed

Your demands denied, I refuse to bleed

And I am the green of my envy

Strength I have found in these souls heavy

I am the blue of my sorrow

In spite of it, I face the morrow

I am the indigo of my mystery

I have learnt to contain the misery in history

I am the violet of my hate

This abomination stands in defiance of hate

Even as I watch my mind disintegrate

I find peace in what it could once create

I cannot see the bars in this prison

But I can feel the light split in the prism

And that is okay

It keeps the darkness at bay

The freedom I crave

It has made me brave

Not because that which did not kill me made me stronger

No, ‘tis the knowledge it will try again later
