The Mother and Daughter Who Are Reportedly Lesbian Partners

The Mother and Daughter Who Are Reportedly Lesbian Partners

I don’t know how to feel about this report, but well, here it is.

African-American Mary Carter is Vertasha Carter’s biological mother, but the relationship does not end there. They are also lesbian lovers.

Mary Carter says of their relationship: “Vertasha and I knew we were attracted to each other when she was sixteen. But we decided to wait to have sex until she was eighteen, legally of age. We are now going public with our relationship to help others who might be in gay mother/daughter relationship feel confident and okay about coming out. We want the world to know we love each other as mother and daughter and romantically.”

Laws forbid incest mostly because of inbreeding and the birth defects that can often come as a consequence.

“We’re women, so Vertasha and I obviously can’t make children,” Mary Carter continues. “It’d be one thing if her daddy (he’s out of the picture) got her pregnant and a baby was born with deformities, but we’re not hurting anyone. We’re a new minority and just want acceptance.”

Vertasha is apparently happy with the relationship as well. She says, “My mom is still my mom. She does normal mom stuff: buys me clothes, pays for food, tells me to make our bed. We just happen to enjoy sex with each other too.”

First of all Freedom is like prescription medicine; it can help you in certain doses, it can be bad for you in certain doses. Maybe this two have gone too far, this is the sort of ish Jerry Springer Show lives for.

At the end of the day, we must accept the fact that people will live their lives the way they deem fit and their is very little we can do about it. I am not shocked by this in anyway, if it floats their boat, good for them.

Now coming to the loaded gun you guys are talking about; many father’s rape their daughters (I volunteer in a trauma centre so I get to hear crazy stuff), brothers rape their sisters too! So it also happens on the other side. Who remembers that story about a man who kept his daughter locked up in the basement for several years and fathered 5 kids from her?

I don’t justify this, but there will always be people who push it a bit too far.

Dennis that bit about the loaded gun, you don’t quite get my point. Of course, these shit happen on the other side of the track, but somehow, the world has inordinately come to see them atrocities as normal, way more normal than an incestuous relationship between gay family members. Somehow in our case, it becomes a grievous sign of a sicker world than when its a heterosexual crime.

I almost feel like this young girl has been brainwashed into this relationship. There’s no way any right thinking person is attracted to someone who is their parent, it’s almost impossible. Every incest case you hear about, someone was taken advantage of….but right here we see a daughter willingly having sex with her mother….that’s wrong!

Ere is no way she isnt a pedophile either, cause, this one that she says she has been attracted to her daughter since she was ‘sixteen’, mbok, thats BULL, the bitch, has probably been eyeing the girl for a long time.
Plus this just adds to the point that we the gays, aren’t fit to raise children. I just cant with this entire story.

      September 17, 07:06 Reply

      Aww, Lothario. Don’t be upset!

Don’t you think this is the point we ask ourselves what “family” means? Is it Blood OR Emotional Bond? I think it’s more of the latter. If you tell me today that Peter Okoye is my father’s abandoned son, you think that will stop me from having sex with him? Story.

These two women could have been separated at the younger girl’s birth only to reunite by chance and be lovers without knowing they are related.

Some of us here have slept with close relatives without knowing it.

Some of us here are estranged from certain members of our family (parents, siblings), they might as well be mere neighbours.

Some of us here have friends we feel closer to than our own blood.

Some of us here, our best friend is actually a sibling.

Some of us here have close friends over whom we’d puke if anyone suggested we have sex with them.

In all these circumstances – and more – the lines between filial and romantic love can blur, and that’s life – regardless of who’s vomiting at the thought of the other’s private life.

Ok, Absalom, Stop. Talking. *runs away*

      • pinkpanthertb
        September 17, 08:01 Reply

Absalom, this line of argument you are pulling does not entirely apply to this story. By the mother’s own admission, she knew she was attracted to her daughter when she was 16. And then two years later, they became lovers. In other words, she was fully aware of her daughter’s status as HER DAUGHTER for two years, before willfully going into a relationship with her.
I don’t even want to go into how that is very different from blurring the lines due to unknowing understanding of one’s familial relationship with another before intimacy.

      • Absalom
        September 17, 08:27 Reply

There’s a nuance to my argument I think you’ve missed. The hypothetical examples I gave were to buttress this point: The lines between agape & filial love and erotic love can get blurred, whether or not mother and daughter knew of their relatedness or not. For many reasons. Their relationship is entirely consensual and to me that satisfies a lot.

This is not about being analytic. This is about the fact of things happening.

I cannot sleep with my parents or siblings. But if someone else has found it in them to do it and we establish that abuse is out of the equation, let them have at it.

And the only the defence for not gwasching her is ‘cos she wasn’t of age. Geezer. What language was her mom exposing her to during the 2 year wait. I’m sorry this isn’t just wrong from the point of being incest ( their defence being them no go born pikin) it ls wrong from the point of the child abused on many psychological levels which we can’t begin to understand. I don’t think this is a case of judge not, that you shall not be judged. Incest isn’t right on so many levels. It is not just about consanguinity and birth defects and defective genes and all that. A man or a woman having sex with his or her offspring isn’t right not to talk of having a consensual relationship.

We can argue that we didn’t choose to be gay but this one has to do with choice. The fact that one can do something doesn’t mean one should do it. The ability of man to exercise restraint in certain conditions is what separates man from animals. You can have that attraction for your offspring but that doesn’t mean you should act on it. He/she is your child, for God’s sakes. That father-son or mother-daughter relationship should not be tampered with. There is a certain respect that should be accorded a parent. When that parent-child relationship is abolished, that respect vanishes.
Now, for instance, what will happen if they break up? Who will the girl turn to for advice? Who will the girl turn to for consolation? No one, I guess. Because her mother has vanished and has been replaced with “lover”.

I’m not saying it’s wrong to have such desires but some restraint should be applied. Consanguinity and genetic defects aren’t the only reasons incest is frowned upon.

Thank you, Samaurai. The reason I don’t like circumstances like this, is because gay proponents of such a relationship will start saying, ‘Remember you are gay o. judge not so you may not be judged.’ There is no judging here. just a frank detestation of something that shouldn’t be. Being gay is not by choice. Screwing your child is.

      • Samaurai
        September 17, 11:42 Reply

You were twisting my words, buddy.

        Let me make myself clearer.

The advice and consolation I’m talking about doesn’t just have to do with gay relationships. They have to do with life in general. What happens when you’re facing a hard time at work or school or anything at all, and you look for someone to talk to. For most women, their mothers are their best sources of comfort. What happens when the lady is in some difficulty, and wants to talk to her mother and realises that she has broken up with her mother-lover.

Let’s assume that they broke up without much animosity between them.
If perchance, her mother now has a new lover, will that new lover even allow mother and daughter to spend time alone to discuss whatever difficulty that is bothering daughter bearing in mind that they were once lovers.

Even if they remain together, there are some issues you face in life that you need to talk to your mother about. Destroying that mother-daughter relationship and replacing it with a lover-lover relationship upsets family dynamics.

Thirdly, what will the woman’s husband and her other children (if she has any other) think about the whole thing. There are so many things at stake biko.

My first reaction was revulsion and a puking action, but at the same time, a small voice was saying “you see? this is exactly how your sexuality disgusts straight people, if this mother and daughter’s sexual preference which is harmless to you can so disgust you, then you should cut the homophobes some slack cos you’re no better”. I battled with this conflict. I also knew that this was another lethal weapon put firmly in the hands of bigots and with gays in the crosshairs … “you see, we said it, once you start departing from the norm, there’s no going back, no telling how far this will go, from same-sex relationships, they’ll clamor for acceptance of bestiality, incest, necrophilia etc” I could already see the homophobes gloating with glee and aplomb. Thank Goodness this eyesore is a hoax!! It is horrible to contemplate, whether or not they can have babies, the thought of intercourse between biologically related persons is just **Peeeuwwwghhhhrrr*** .. but assuming this story is true, i am ashamed to say it, but i must say the truth, I am afraid I shall have to be called a bigot because there’s just no way I can accept such a weird and sickening relationship – a mother and her daughter rubbing toto and fingering themselves ***runs to the sink, pulls long flowing hair back and pukes loudly***, am sorry! but i would never inflict violence on them, I just wouldnt want to be around them, I might throw up my breakfast all over my bright red Ferragamo heels, y’all just keep your mess away from me & maintain a 100mile radius from me cos i cant trust myself to be decent to you …

I don’t have anything much to say again sha.

But like I said before, consanguinity and defective genes are not the only reasons the law frowns on incest.

Secondly, if the incest were to occur between cousins, an aunt and her niece, distant relatives, it would be understandable. But for a mom to be a lover as well, that’s not good.

The respect we accord parents and the respect we accord lovers are two different things. Even though they we respect our parents and lovers. But these “respects” are different from each other.

Even the bible said you can’t serve two masters at a time. A person cannot be a parent and a lover at the same time. They are mutually exclusive events.

The fact that I’m s gay man and frowned on by society does not make it okay for me to accept every form of (for lack of a better word) perversion there is.
They talk if bestiality. They talk of gay incest. They talk of active pedophilia. And they say I shouldn’t speak my disapproval of them because well, the world thinks ill of my sexuality. Since when does my sexuality become a reason I shouldn’t say ‘That isn’t right’?

This post only validates my thoughts on how people consider sexual deviations. You see guys, there is a lot of gray areas when it comes to sexuality. Thank God it is fake.

I really wanted to read all the comments but different individuals are of the separate views(which are the same, to a point), so I’ll just say this. Are they right? I dunno. Will I judge them? No(I’m bisexual, the world already judges me). Do I wish for ‘their’ minority to grow? Hell, to the nizzle(no). I just hope this doesn’t turn into a messy Jerry Springer episode when ‘Vertasha'(see name sef) starts sleeping with her aunt or cousins…. Oh well. *kanye shrug*
