Tweet Of The Day IX

Tweet Of The Day IX

IMG_20150803_123825I’ve been seeing this tweet floating about on the social media, causing quite the stir it was so obviously designed for. This is another thing that buttresses something Dennis Macaulay said in one of his entries, that homophobia generally stems from the belief that being gay is a choice. Otherwise, why would anyone think that homosexuality is just another thing acquired in this ‘suffer-head’ living we are enduring in this country?

we all know what casual homophobia is like here. we are already faced with the ignorance and hate every day on social media and real life. is there any particular reason to give this guy any special spotlight here?

apparently being gay is about “another man’s yansh”. i can’t deal.

That is how antigay people who steadfastly stew in ignorance see it. I remember on twitter one time, I was minding my Pink Panther business, calmly tweeting KD links. I think a follower of mine must have clicked on one of the links, seen what’s on the blog, then checked out my profile. As if to be doubly sure, he tweeted at me: ‘Guy, are u gay?’
      To which I replied, ‘Yes.’
His reply? ‘Ah! I’m unfollowing you o. I don’t want any trouble for my nyash o.’
I shook my head at the reply. Especially when his followers started getting involved with tweets of laugh emojis and ‘Burn’.
I’m like, seriously. Y’all think he burned me? His idiocy is what’s burning him.

lmao… i’m so trigger happy with the block button on twitter… i recall reading somewhere that homophobia in men is the fear that gay men will treat you the way you treat women.
