“It Gets Better.” Wentworth Miller has some thoughtful advice to young gays who are struggling

Wentworth Miller has been vocal about his own struggles with depression and suicide and he wants others to know that it can and will get better.

‘You just have to trust that people are out there waiting to love you and celebrate you for who you are,’ says Miller who has been named Man of the Year by Attitude Magazine.att276_001_WENTWORTHsmall-768x1005 (1)

The Prison Break star had declined for years to talk about his personal life. But for the last few years, he has since been open about his experiences and has a thoughtful message for anyone struggling to come to terms with their sexuality, who is being bullied or might be considering suicide.

‘… It gets better,’ he says. ‘One day, you’ll find your tribe. In the meantime, the reality is you might have to be your own tribe. You might have to be your own best friend. That’s not something they’re going to teach you in school. So start the work of loving yourself.’

The 44-year-old actor came out publicly in 2014 when he refused an invitation to a film festival in Russia because of the country’s new laws banning homosexual ‘propaganda’.

Earlier this year, Miller penned a Facebook post about the cruelty he endured on social media when he gained weight during the years between Prison Break and his return to television in The Flash as Leonard Snart (aka Captain Cold).

The actor will be reprising his role of Michael Scofield in Prison Break for a miniseries set to air next year.

I already saw the trailer of the season5 and i’m really eager to see my future baby daddy again…

They get to discover Micheal is alive after some yrs and his child is already grown after we all assumed he was dead.Locked up in an Arabian prison and the whole old team reunite again.

I really can’t wait to see how they break him out this time cos we know how the Arabs can be very cruel and extreme.

Being gay can be such a lonely life. And it takes strength and a will to appreciate yourself for who you are to survive.

Really lonely! You just have to learn to live life one day at a time and create/find your own happiness…Discover what makes you happy and stick to it.

I have few friends who always say that a gay man will always end up lonely and alone eventually especially in this Nigeria.
