Anderson Cooper is newly single after splitting from longtime boyfriend
Anderson Cooper has separated from longtime boyfriend Benjamin Maisani. They were together for nine years.
The CNN anchor confirmed the news with a statement, after the Daily Mail first reported the news.
‘Benjamin and I separated as boyfriends some time ago,’ he said. ‘We are still family to each other, and love each other very much. We remain the best of friends, and will continue to share much of our lives together.’
No reason was given for the split, but Cooper previously revealed that he’s a workaholic. He also travels a lot for his job.
The Daily Mail noted the journalist has been spending time with someone else, but it’s not confirmed what his relationship status is.
Just a few days ago, his BFF Andy Cohen also revealed he’s single. He split from boyfriend Clifton Dassuncao. Now, he’s looking for a man who’s never seen The Real Housewives.
However, don’t expect the friendship to blossom into romance.
While appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Cooper admitted he knew “within 45 seconds I was never going on a date with Andy Cohen”.
Why? Because Cohen broke Cooper’s cardinal rule: asking about his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt.
At least their friendship has lasted this long and they can be each other’s wingmen.
