DEMON WITHIN
I can’t let anyone in there yet
I might die before I let anyone in there
Where my deepest secrets lie bare
There is a monster I’ve kept caged
My rib cages grow thinner with its clawing rage
Begging and pleading to come out
How long can I hold it from the light of the day?
Those who see a glimpse run away screaming
Those who haven’t seek with smiles gleaming
Not knowing that the devil rests there
Is one that instills fear.
It is a part of me I can’t deny
But about its existence, I can’t but lie
People are curious creatures once they know
They will go looking for treasures where there’s foe
So I bury this darkness beneath blinding light
Preventing its resurgence, a herculean light
But I’m hopeful one day the demon becomes the world angel
Because soon gone is the ability this evil to keep.

June 06, 02:17The signs are clear as a stream in the noon,
As naked as a new born fry.
Since its “coming out” will make them swoon,
Then down in my darkest parts I’d let it lie.
For to stifle it certainly shall mean my death,
And to deny it, I shal’nt but try.
But oh, it heats my bowels with it’s breath,
Alas! tis escaped, and I let it fly!
Oh, the shame I bear now they know!
The stigma, how it pours like rain!
Heavy, hot and thick, sat it on my brow,
l lie, still and flattened, like the slain.
But a teeny-weeny voice whispers within,
“many swing both ways, but walk like nuns”
So with hope reawakened amid the phobic din,
I leap, my flag of rainbow basking in the sun.
