Dolce & Gabbana (Finally) Apologize For Their Anti-IVF and Gay Adoption Statements

Oh how the tides have changed.

Italian designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have issued an apology in Vogue for the statements they made regarding gay adoption and IVF.

Back in March, Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce faced some serious heat when Dolce was quoted in Panaroma magazine stating: “We oppose gay adoptions. I call children of chemistry synthetic children. The only family is the traditional one… No chemical offsprings and rented uterus; Life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed. “

After the comments were released, people were furious with the designers. The uproar even led Elton John to boycott the clothing line, saying “How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic?'”

Now it seems the openly-gay designers have had a change of heart.

“I’ve done some soul-searching,” Dolce says in the September issue of Vogue. “I’ve talked to Stefano a lot about this. I’ve realized that my words were inappropriate, and I apologize.”

Dolce has also changed his opinion on IVF:

“I think everybody chooses for themselves. I don’t know everything about IVF, but I love it when people are happy. It’s like medicine. Science has been put on the table to help people.”

In the article, Gabbana also voices support for Dolce, adding that he wanted to adopt, but due to Italian culture, he wasn’t able to.

“When they ask if I wanted to be a parent, I say yes, of course, why not? But it’s not possible in Italy,” he says. “I had thought of going to California and having a baby, but I couldn’t bring the baby back to Italy, because you need the mother’s passport. I asked about adoption in Italy. It’s very hard for a straight couple here — imagine if you are gay!”

This is one apology I’m a lot more inclined to accept than those retards that apologize 12hrs after they are caught with their feet in their mouth.

Sometimes you just need time to assess your thoughts and “evolve”. Gosh, I love that word all of a sudden. Lol

I am sure Pikin is over the moon with this news.

Anyway, everyone is still entitled to his/her opinion and everyone has a right to change his/her mind whenever they deem it fit.

    Nothing changes.
