For God.

For God.

Dear God, I want to kneel before you

In humble supplication

My mouth, open, a shallow well, a bruised orifice

My back bent, forward or backward

My eyes closed tight

My head held in the clasp of your gentle hands.

I want to feel your warming touch

Your awesome power, entering, leaving

My body trembling, shaking, a broken conduit

My throat, tight and wet, opening

My voice dissolving into the incomprehensible

My eyes closed but seeing

Small sparks

The world spinning, suspended

Like light and air and water

My spirit rising and rising

And falling and falling.

Dear God, I want to kneel before you

And worship between your feet

I want to stretch and stretch and turn and turn

And have your fair arms wrap around me

And hear you say, “Here I come.”

And answer to you, “Come into me.”

And feel that warm flooding

And swallow

And say, “Amen, Amen.”

The poet’s name complements the poem. My church mind was shaking all through the read. Lol.

    Dear priest.
U are an awesome and amazing writer,
And yes for the first time I read myself having true intimacy with the one true God.
