Kano State Government Shuts Down College Over Claims Of Homosexual Acts

The acting Kano State Governor, Hafiz Abubakar, has ordered the shutting down of Hassan Gwarzo College, following recent media reports that homosexual acts were widespread in the institution.

The acting governor directed the Private and Voluntary Schools Board to immediately ensure that the order closing the school was implemented.

In addition, Mr. Abubakar disclosed that the state government had appointed a 14-member committee to investigate the allegations that students at the school engaged in homosexual acts. The committee, which is headed by a professor, Abubakar Mustapha, is expected to submit its report within two weeks.

When I 1st heard d heart-shattering story,ah was so sad.U guyz r getting it wrong, homophobia isn’t in the picture right now cos it’s not like d students themselves willingly engaged in the act. The issue here is dah some std (d sch is a boys only) were repotedly raped by some men who invaded their hostel and the school authorities were trying to cover it up. It was even reported that one of d victims (a 13yrs old boy) is still unable to stand straight/walk and has been referred to the ICU of Aminu Kano Hospital. That is wickedness @ its’ peak…..Infact,@ its’ grandest!

My main issue with this story is that they are focusing on the homosexual aspect, not the rape aspect. It’s almost like they would have been relieved if this happened to female students. Rape is rape, especially as it concerns children. Nigerians would rather turn this into a story of rancid gay men than rancid rapists in their bid to make them one in the same.

This is another issue, I read the press release. I think some students were raped and the school authority was not forth coming with information.

I don’t know how true this story is but they would have to shot down the whole sec sch in Nigeria for this to hold credence. Homosexuals exist in ALL sec Schs. Even though I believe sec Schs to be the breeding ground for homo sex activities (as young kids then to explore more and try out things at this stage) I still think shutting down those Schs is a futile effort.
However, if this is a case of rape as someone mentioned earlier. It’s sad! Really sad. How people will be so sick enough to rape kids. Being a rape victim myself in sec sch, it’s never easy dealing with it. The effect psychologically on ones self is immense. as much as I love young adults I can never imagine, contemplate or attempt to rape or even engage a kid. It’s on the top most list of human wickedness. you ruin a destiny forever!
Shame on those people that raped the kids, if true they should be caught and killed.

They should “shot down” all the schools in Nigeria?

Please what should they use? Canons? Missiles? Or Boko Bombs?

Beleive it or not I saw it and left it like that, if you read further you will see were I wrote ‘shutting’ I don’t have the time to be autocorrecting EVERY single words I type here. I just don’t have that time. Anyone thinking am an illiterate for these so-called blunders; wouldn’t pay my bills. So I really don’t care.

Talking of which, Dennis you should be in your 30’s I reckon. you clearly don’t exude that MOST times. Grow up son.

I think this is a step in the right direction if the students were actually raped, the teachers should also be prosecuted for covering the act.

The aim here is to deal with the rape ish, gayism exist in most of the boarding skuls especially boys only alot of times young boys are caught but in most of this private skuls the principal is scared to take action because he doesnt want to expel the child of an influential person, thats also the basic reason they cover the rape up too because they dont want to get on the wrong side of the victims parents if they get to discover and the boys too are too ashame to tell their parents about it anyways. It is a crazy situation.

The school was shut because some students were raped my some guys. Trust nigerians they will forget the main and bothersome issue here is ‘rape’ and not ‘homosexuality’.

Why do I have a feeling this report has been twisted. Last I read the school was closed down because of the incidences of rape that finally came to light and the resultant public outcry NOT because of ‘widespread homosexual acts’

And the so called committee was set up to identify the rapists who apparently aren’t even students of the school and have them prosecuted NOT to investigate the high level of homosexuality in the school. Thats false

When I first heard news of this, I was proud that Nigerians were focusing on getting the rapists behind bars and the institution reprimanded, and not minding that homosexuality, consenting or not is a crime too. So someone is trying to be a kill joy here

Was this written by one of those white sentimental ridden LGBT columnist? Who attribute even the slightest headache to homophobia. Seems like it was
