“I Still Regret It.” Lewis Hamilton wears kilt to “make amends” for mocking his nephew when he wore a dress

Lewis Hamilton has posed on the cover of the new British GQ magazine in a kilt to ‘make amends’ for shouting at his nephew for wearing a dress in an Instagram story last Christmas.

In December last year, Hamilton came under fire after he videoed himself berating his nephew, saying: “Why are you wearing a princess dress? Why did you ask for a princess dress for Christmas? Boys don’t wear princess dresses!”

He posted an apology the following day, saying: “My deepest apologies for my behavior as I realise it is really not acceptable in the world today for anyone, no matter where you are from, to marginalize or stereotype anyone.”

The Formula 1 star elaborated to GQ in the accompanying interview: “I want to make amends… I still hold regret for it today, but ultimately I think it’s important in life for people to be held accountable for their actions and particularly their words, and I was.”

He furthermore added: “I’ve been through quite a lot [of criticism], although there are things I regret in my life, I wouldn’t go back and change them, because if I did, I wouldn’t be the man I am today. I wouldn’t have the mindset I have today.”

Sharing the cover on Instagram, a spokesperson for GQ said: “At Vogue House, we think of the cover as a powerful act of personal conviction, which acknowledges Hamilton’s increasingly brave fashion sense, while offering a very public apology, a multicoloured tartan mea culpa.”

Lewis is of course one the most successful racing car drivers. He is a four-time Formula 1 World Champion.

Wearing a kilt for a Vogue cover doesn’t translate to a change in your thought patterns. If anything, I’m even more inclined to believe this is a PR stunt. After all, it’s Vogue. They’re eccentric and are the major boost for any career.

Is he for real? A kilt is MEN’s wear. ?? He is still gender-conforming. Didn’t he see a nice, low-cut Versace gown to wear — preferably to a Hollywood event?

And did he get paid for this. . .”apology”?
