Marvel Introduces Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek And Rest Of The Eternals Cast

Angelina Jolie made her official Marvel debut in Hall H on Saturday evening.

Jolie was on hand for the superhero studio’s Comic-Con presentation of its upcoming movie, The Eternals. She was joined by her future co-stars Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh and Don Lee.

Jolie, who’s one of the biggest casting victories for the MCU even with its long history of casting victories, spoke about the responsibility she feels to continue the Marvel Studios commitment to excellent by ushering in a new super team.

“I’m gonna work 10 times harder,” the Tomb Raider star said to the elated crowd. “Because what it means to be part of the MCU, what it means to be an Eternal, to be part of this family, I know what we all need to do and what the task ahead is and what you all deserve. So, we’re all going to be working very, very hard.”

Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the Eternals are a race of near immortal superbeings who are the result of Celestial experimentation on early life on Earth. They were intended as protectors of the planet, which places them in a constant war with the Deviants, a race also created as the result of Celestial tampering with Earth evolution, who believe the planet is their domain.

It was announced at the panel that Jolie will be playing Thena, an Eternal that has super strength, speed and stamina. As it was previously reported, Richard Madden will be playing Ikaris, Brian Tyree Henry is Phastos, Salma Hayek is Ajak, Lauren Ridloff is Makkari, Lia McHugh is Sprite and Don Lee is Gilgamesh.

Hayek, fired up about the future project, spoke about how she feels “very honored” to be a part of the movie, which “is going to allow people who never felt represented in superheroes, to feel represented. I am proud to have a diverse family.”

The movie will hit theaters on Nov. 6, 2020, as a part of Marvel’s new phase of films.

After the cast took the Hall H stage, Marvel unveiled the film’s official logo on Twitter.

Jolie is an inspiration to us all..
She proved with maleficent that it’s never too late to become a Disney Child..
    Even in your 40’s…
For those of us who were never opportuned to be teen stars..
    Lol who am I kidding..

Also I read somewhere that Jennifer Aniston never wanted to have kids or something like that…
    While Angelina was very willing.
