“Biafra Will Be Restored, And If You’re Gay, You Better Repent Or Look For Another Country.” Nigerian Man Rants On Facebook
It appears the first order of business for the yet-to-be-formed Biafran country has been identified. And that is to hunt down the gays.
At least, that is what Facebook netizen, Ofunwa NA Umueze Isuofia, tried to make us understand. In a series of posts which he has since deleted, the Anambra native took to Facebook to let us know two key information: that Biafra will be restored in October 12, and that it’d be such a holy land that no gays will be allowed to live in it.
“Warning, warning, warning, if you’re a Gay or HOMO, FAG … listen very attentively,” he posted. “BIAFRA will be restored October 12. As soon as BIAFRA has been restored, we will fish out all the homosexuals and gay stone them to death because BIAFRA land is a holy land before they turned [sic] BIAFRA land to Sodom and Gomorrah.”
He went on to suggest the only options would-be LGBT Biafrans would have. “You better repent or you look for another country and go and do your gay nonsense.” (This is very reminiscent of a similar opinion expressed by Police PRO, Dolapo Badmus in January 2019, when she said that Nigeria is not a place for those who are homosexually inclined.)
His post was clearly poorly received, as he followed up with another one, where he expressed amusement over those Facebook friends who’d started to unfriend him, while doubling down on his threats.
“Weather [sic] you people like it or not,” he said, “there will be no gay in BIAFRA land. If we try catch you, you must die.”
Whether Ofunwa NA Umueze Isuofia regarded this as something funny to bandy about on social media for clout or somewhere in his delusional mind, he was actually serious, this is just too much ugliness in one human being.
