UNTOLD FACTS EPISODE FOUR: COMMUNITY ROLE IN EQUALITY
This episode’s discussions are about the role of LGBT persons in achieving equality and how their self-discovery journey can help enhance discussion around equal rights for LGBT persons in Nigeria. On this episode of #UNTOLDFACTS, Moses discussed the role of LGBT persons in equal treatment of LGBT with two guests, Olumide Makanjuola (a Sexual Health and Rights Promoter) and Pamela Adie (a Business Strategist, Consultant, Media and Communications Expert, Feminist and Human Rights Defender).
This episode featured gems from the guests, a few which I picked up:
Pamela Adie says of recognising her truth: “I got to a point where my pain was much more than my fear, where there was just no other way.”
Olumide says of those battling their self acceptance: “The whole world can know you are, but you will still have a difficult time accepting who you are.”
Pamela says of being a gay woman all over again: “If I had a choice, I would still be a gay woman, because that is part of what has made me who I am. The experiences that I’ve gone through in life have made me stronger, more determined, and have strengthened my belief in the human spirit.”
