US soldiers slay Todrick Hall’s new queer anthem in viral video

Two serving US soldiers have won praise with their take on Todrick Hall’s latest dance routine.

Singer and choreographer Hall recently released anthemic new dance track called Nails Hair Hips Heels, a single from his latest album, Haus Party Part 1. Hall challenged fans to ape the dance routine from the video with his social media #NHHHchallenge

Two men who rose to the challenge are Clifford Louis General and his buddy, Trevon. General is a Sergeant in the US Army, and Trevon is a Specialist. Both soldiers are currently stationed in Germany.

General, who is gay, is also a choreographer and had the idea for doing the routine. He reportedly said that the choreography “blew me away after watching it the first time. I am a big fan of Todrick Hall and we both love to dance and figured what’s stopping us from hopping on the bandwagon. Maybe someone would notice and just our luck Todrick, and many others did.”

Indeed, after General posted it to his Instagram, it was re-shared by Hall himself this week, with the caption: ‘Serving for your CUNTRY HUNTY! Yes GAWD. I’m Todrick Hall and I APPROVE ??THIS??MESSAGE.’

Trevon, who is straight, tells GSN that the dance was not too hard to learn. Both men enjoy producing entertainment for other members of the military. General has choreographed routines for the United States Army Europe Soldiers Chorus.

‘Me and [Clifford] are both dancers so it wasn’t too hard picking up the choreo. This is everyday life for us as we are both very unique entertainers.’

Many have commented on Todrick’s re-posting, including the likes of Matt Bomer. The actor said, ‘This made all my Pride month dreams come true!’

For one Instagrammer, the video was moving on a whole other level. ‘I’m loving every second of this video,’ commented @bklyn_lady. ‘As a veteran I served under don’t ask don’t tell and I never had the chance to serve my country openly as a lesbian in the 9 year. It’s an absolute blessing to see this happen.’

It’s been so long a time since I choreographed. I’ll need help with the routine take and a good VIDEOGRAPHER!
