10 Reasons Why We’re In Love With Justin Trudeau
Justin Trudeau’s popularity as a world leader is well-documented. So is the Canadian PM’s dazzling smile. Plus his perfect, perfect hair.
But mostly, he’s famous for his progressive views. The Liberal Party leader is a fierce protector of LGBTI and women’s rights. He is also wonderfully welcoming to immigrants and refugees.
His handsome face brightened up the news again this week. And not simply because he has sparkly blue eyes.
His first visit to Trump’s White House was always going to be big news.
But few could have predicted it would be so meme-friendly. His unimpressed expression when Trump went in for a handshake went viral. And summed up the way many feel about the orange one.
But it was Trump’s ‘swooning’ daughter Ivanka that inspired this feature
To be fair, Ivanka, we totally get it.
So without further ado, here are 10 reasons JT would make the perfect husband. Whoever said politics was boring?
He can balance babies on one hand.
We repeat: he can balance babies on one hand.
We can’t even.
He looks like a Disney Prince.
He looks great in a rugby kit.
He once kissed a guy on live TV.
He loves Pride.
There aren’t many straight guys we’d let take center stage at Pride, but Justin’s one of them. Last year, he became the first sitting Prime Minister to attend both Vancouver and Toronto Pride. His gleeful expression at both delighted fans worldwide.
And he’s big on LGBTI rights, generally.
He’s called the ‘Prime Minister of homosexuals’ by homophobes. We couldn’t be happier about that. Also, trans rights are on his mind. Last year, he announced legislation protecting trans people from hate speech and discrimination.
Then, last month, he spoke on trans inmates serving sentences in prisons based on their gender identity. ’I’ll make sure we look at it and we address it and we do right in recognizing that trans rights are human rights and we need to make sure we are defending everyone’s dignity and rights in every way we can,’ he said.
He was born on Christmas Day.
So, obviously he’s super special.
The following quote:
‘Diversity is the engine of invention. It generates creativity that enriches the world.’
Also, this one’s pretty cool:
‘We shouldn’t be afraid of the word feminist. Men and women should use it to describe themselves.’
He’s an amazing dad.
Justin and his gorgeous wife Sophie have been married since 2005 and they are parents to three equally gorgeous kids. They are Xavier, 9, Ella-Grace Margaret, 8 and also Hadrien, 2. Justin and Sophie set a glowing example to heterosexual parents everywhere by proudly taking their children along with them to Vancouver Pride last year.
And finally, he’s besties with Obama.
It was a bromance for the ages.
