Author Of ‘Stop Being Gay’ Book Arrested For Molesting Teenage Boy, Again

bishop-youngbloodA Pittsburgh pastor who wrote a not-quite-bestselling book about his successful struggle to become a former gay has been arrested for sexually assaulting a teenage boy. On the one hand, it looks like pretty strong evidence that attempts to pray away the gay just don’t take, but I’d also like to point out that, coming right down to it, the gay is a far less problematic issue here than the teenager-raping. Dare I even suggest that if Bishop Duane Youngblood of the “Higher Call World Outreach Church” had just settled down to being a happily gay man instead of trying to force himself to be straight, it’s entirely possible he wouldn’t have done nonconsensual sex to a teen who came to him for counseling? I don’t know, I’m not the expert.

The boy, who is now 21, says that Youngblood molested him from 2009 through 2011, and that it only ended when he went to college and “told Youngblood he didn’t want to be counseled by him anymore.” Which is not to say that he doesn’t now need tons of counseling; this time, perhaps a more reputable therapist? Youngblood reportedly told the boy not to tell his mother about the “counseling,” of course, because “he didn’t want to get into trouble.”

The Amazon description of Youngblood’s inspirational book, Freedom From Homosexuality: No Longer Living The Lie, says that Youngblood:

‘shares insights and truth to help anyone struggling with perversions find a place of forgiveness and deliverance in God. Through his honesty about his own life and the enemy’s plan against him, many have already been delivered from perverse sins.’

I bet Youngblood is probably coping with his arrest by feeling really bad about how “the enemy” made him rape a kid.

Oh, also, it’s probably worth mentioning that in 2006 Youngblood was accused of molesting a 15-year-old boy he was “counseling.” He was “sentenced to one year of intermediate punishment and seven years’ probation,” but somehow managed to continue running a church with an outreach ministry to youth, because… you know, First Amendment be damned, how for godssakes is that even legal?

Finally, just because you may not have had occasion to bury your face in your hands yet today, here are the final two tweets in Pastor Youngblood’s twitter stream:youngblood-tweet

Who knows, maybe after his next bout with the justice system, he’ll overcome the influence of The Enemy and start a new church. He’s sure to have plenty of material for a new book.

Also, just for the sake of mentioning it, we should probably remind readers to keep the rules in mind — we don’t wish prison rape (or any other kind) on anyone, not even complete scumbags.

LOL! Hypocrisy! Just like that republican senator who voted against equality and gay marriage and was later caught pro positioning a man in a public rest room. Shit happens when u try to convince yourself that you aren’t who you are and you end up becoming a lying hypocrite.

I have a friend, a very close one who was having some setbacks in life. He couldn’t find a job, and some businesses he tried his hand on failed. Eventually a “prophetess” told his that he should stop the sin of “homo” and God will have mercy on him. So he announced to all of us that he was done and he started avoiding us. The rest of the gang just laughed and we’re like “we have all been down that road before, it leads to no where”. I just told him “as long as you are happy, by all means go for it”.
You know the rest of the story, he couldn’t keep up the charade, fell back to his normal ways and started hiding it from us cos he was ashamed after preaching to all of us to repent LOL.
Anyway we later confronted him, embraced him (after rubbing it in anyway) and we all put it behind us. I think lying to yourself is the worst thing ever, because you can never be successful at it.

And happy too. No one ever found happiness from lying to himself.

Honestly,I’ve never even bothered “going down that road”. I’m amazed at how people can be so self-unaware to assume to could just switch sexualities like a pair of shoes. If u want to be celibate for a while,be celibate; don’t go announcing to anyone that cares to listen that u’re now straight cos u’ll look like a fool wen u come back(and they always come back!)
Meanwhile,d pastor in dis story is some type of crazy. Why won’t he just rest and accept himself(and hav consensual sex with adults)? Ok,even if he’s struggling with his sexualiity, why won’t he make it a private struggle? Why turn it into a (false) public victory? *sigh* I can’t with these twisted ninjas! *rides away on BMX bicycle*

PinkPanther I know weve had this lecture before, the one abt how lame it is for u to constantly reply msgs that u r in contention with. How abt u assume a level of animosity every now and then especially when the comments aren’t directed at you… that way in my mind, u look less like a fool.

Chizzie I don’t constantly reply messages I’m in contention with. Comments only you happen to make. I’ve actually been ignoring all your little tantrums you’ve been throwing all over this forum, ignoring you like the child you are. Perhaps when you mature, then, in my mind, you’ll be less like an idiot.

whenever I come across people like this pastor, my first emotional response is pity.
Other emotions usually follow, but pity is the very first.

That said, why do we gay guys have this amusing penchant for petty quarrels? I’m thinking about Chizzie and our darling Pinky.
