Ryan Reynolds Doesn’t Mind Deadpool Having A Boyfriend

Deadpool comes out today, and actor Ryan Reynolds is open to doing a little gay-pandering while on the promo stroll for the pansexual superhero.

In a red-carpet interview with Variety, Reynolds made it known that he’s well aware the character is pansexual, and hopes to take his sexuality even further in any sequels.

To be pansexual means “not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity.” Basically, it’s a sexual free-for-all. And Reynolds is all about that pansexuality when it comes to Deadpool. He said: “I love that about Deadpool. I love that he can break any boundary. In the future, I hope we get to do that more.”

And as for a boyfriend for Deadpool?

“I certainly wouldn’t be the guy standing in the way of that. That would be great,” he said.

Variety says the allusions to Deadpool’s pansexuality are played for humor, but since they’re breaking the R-rated superhero barrier, who’s to say Deadpool 2 can’t have a male love interest?

That would be something truly groundbreaking for a superhero flick.
