Father rapes lesbian daughter to ‘prove sex was better with men’
A UK father raped his daughter to ‘prove sex was better with men’ after she came out to him.
The 16-year-old girl told her father she was ‘struggling with her identity’ when it happened, the Warwick Crown Court heard.
Then the 54-year-old father exploded with ‘uncontrolled’ anger.
When handing down the ruling, Judge Andrew Lockhart said: “As a 16-year-old girl, she realised she was gay and, struggling with her identity as many people do at that age, she decided to tell you. You reacted by showing real and uncontrolled anger, and you decided to rape her to show her why it would be better to have sex with men than women.
“Her evidence made for harrowing listening. That rape involved degradation and humiliation. The offence demonstrated your hostility towards her as a lesbian.”
In order to protect the identity of the child, the father’s name is not public information.
The father was found guilty of three charges of rape, nine of indecent assault and one of indecency with a child during the 1980’s and 90’s.
He was sentenced to 21 years in jail.
