Lucifer’s Milk
I didn’t want apples
Nor ciders
The beauty of the Eden didn’t draw me close
The red fruit was far too haunting
I wanted Lucifer’s milk.
*
Every night I kneeled
Arms outstretched
Neck elongated
Grasping on his tree trunk
As he fed me his tasteless milk.
*
His seed of life he called it.
They same reason Adam was banished?
Only this time I didn’t disobey
He never told me not to drink of it
Or did He?
*
So I sucked like my life depended on it
Salivating in its anticipation
Eclipsing in its aura
As the liquid flowed down my chin
Dripping on my guilt-laden floor.
*
It is dawn again
But Lucifer didn’t disappear
Like the ancient book said he would.
He is lying beside me
Snoring gently, right by my side.
*
I know he is taking me to hell
I imagine my skin peeling
Engulfed in eternal flames
But I’m far too used to his milk
Dripping down my chin, in the dead of his night.
