LESSON 12

From the chapter, ‘When I Die, I Just Want To Be Remembered’, PD has this to say:

“The best thing about being in a relationship is the emotional satisfaction. Knowing there is someone who already cares about you, someone who has your back and who you can call when you are down.”

The second relationship I was in was the best time I ever spent with a man – and for that, the worst breakup I ever suffered. This man I dated changed me. He really did. He brought into my consciousness realizations about myself and the future that I never really dwelled upon before he came along. He made me start to want things I never thought possible. There was such an emotional satisfaction that came from being with him, from being with someone who you knew that waking up beside him every morning would most certainly be the highlight of your day.

Sex is good. The freedom to have a lot of sex with different people, to me, is a very good thing. (Don’t knock on random sex.) But I have come to realize that the satisfaction of different sex doesn’t quite compare to the purpose you get from the continuity of being with that one person.
