Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé And Shonda Rhimes Make Forbes’ List Of Most Powerful Women In Entertainment

Topping the list, unsurprisingly was Oprah Winfrey, who has been an influential mainstay in the world of entertainment for years. Beyoncé comes in at No. 6, as one of few musicians on the list. She was highlighted for her groundbreaking Vogue cover, shot by the youngest and first African-American photographer Tyler Mitchel, and her iconic Coachella performance.
Shonda Rhimes, with her trailblazing Netflix deal, comes in at a strong No. 12. Forbes described her multi-million-dollar deal with the streaming platform as a move that “cemented her place at the forefront of entertainment’s digital future—and pioneered Netflix’s handsome producer paydays.”
And Serena Williams came in at a respectable 14th place, having enjoyed a big year following her return to the tennis circuit after giving birth to daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
