Bruce Jenner Made Contact With Laverne Cox

Former Olympian-turned-Reality TV Personality Bruce Jenner has been in contact with Transgender Actress Laverne Cox for help and advice about his decision to transition from a man to a woman.

Jenner went public with his much-speculated transition during a candid interview with U.S. newswoman Diane Sawyer on Friday (24Apr15), and during the TV chat he admitted he has always identified more as a female.

He has since started hormone therapy again, after previously taking the estrogen medication for five years back in the 1980s, and he has reached out to Cox to learn more about what to expect from his journey as he embarks on his new life as a woman.

He is also keen to follow her lead and do more advocacy work to raise awareness and help others in similar positions, stating, “I would like to work with this community to get this message out,” but he insists: “They know a lot more than I know… I am not a spokesman for the community.”

He adds, “The suicide rates, murder rates, difficulty – especially for black female transwomen… – I would like to think that we can save some lives here.”

And Jenner, who has no current plans to undergo gender reassignment surgery, is convinced his new role as an outspoken transgender activist is all part of God’s plan.

He explains, “When I would sit in church, I would always wonder, in God’s eyes, how does He see me? I have this feeling and a kind of a revelation that maybe this is my cause in life, this is why God put me on this Earth, to deal with this issue. And that was a very powerful moment. It certainly gave me an awful lot of courage.”

Jenner continues, “We’re going to make a difference in the world with what we’re doing. And if the whole Kardashian show and reality television gave me that foothold into that world – to be able to go out there and really do something good, I’m all for it. I got no problem with that.”

Trans-sexuality is so confusing to me. So if he doesnt have gender reassignment surgery, he is still a woman?

      Yes.

The hormone therapy is the main thing. Some transgender people keep the organs from their formerly assigned gender.

What organs? Did Laverne cut off his D?
As far as I’m concerned, the only thing they do to look more feminine is putting breast implants. All other organs remain intact.

As far as you’re concerned… You have read up all on it takes to be transgender, yes? And this certainty of yours is not borne from your perceptions of it, yes? @Max

@Pinky, I’ve done my research on it in the past. Their organs remain intact.

@Max: some of them go the whole hog. The penis is somehow split and turned “inside”, to form an actual vagina (I actually saw a transgender pornstar on “Botched”, who wanted her new vagina to look more…er,beatiful,so the doctors gave her a more realistic vagina than the one the former doctors gave her).
In women,I think the clitoris is somehow fashioned into a very small, albeit functional penis(seen on Dr 90210)

        There’s transgender and there’s transexual.

Transgender: Identifies with a gender different from that which one is born–may take up gender roles. [Switches pronoun]

Transexual: Transitions (fully) into a sex different from that which one is born. [Switches pronoun]

Transvestite: Often dresses and/or takes up (traditional) gender roles peculiar with an opposite gender. [Switches wigs]

**These aren’t dictionary definitions so forgive me if I’m a lil off.

You know, Dennis, against yesterday’s post, I attached a GLAAD link that prompts readers to get educated on transgender. Or you could hit google and educate yourself.

Am cool with gender reassignment, transexualism and all tranny issues but
in Bruce Jenner’s case, Wendy Williams spoke for me as per my view on B.
    Jenner’s reassignment surgery.
….and until a person complete the transition from male to female or female to
male ie. including genitals or the removal of mammary glands in thst of women,
i still view them as still in the body of their present gender.

The allocation of public conveniences as in which toilet to use is a debatable issue
in the western society. I heard of a lady that will not share the female common
room with a male tranny. Oh well…..
