Conservative Christian radio host says Satan is using Pokémon Go to target churches

Christian radio host Rick Wiles of Trunews said that Pokémon Go might pose a threat to Christians and churches because it’s demonic and from the devil.

On Monday, Wiles described to his listeners that Pokémon creatures are ‘virtual cyber-demons’ and that the game Pokémon Go has planted these demons in the Trunews office.

He shared the story of how a staff had called the police after spotting a suspicious man loitering outside the radio station’s building with his phone, only to be informed later that the man was simply playing Pokémon Go.

‘The man was trying to find the Pokémon demon that’s placed inside Trunews office,’ Wiles said.

The host went on to suggest that Pokémon Go might become a tool for Islamic terrorists to target Christians.

‘What if this technology is transferred to Islamic jihadists and Islamic jihadists have an app that shows them where Christians are located geographically?’ he asked.

Wiles expressed his fears of ‘strong Christian leaders’ being targeted after their locations are being exposed. He added: ‘The enemy — Satan — is targeting churches with virtual, digital, cyber-demons.’

Wiles also encouraged people who downloaded the game to delete it off their phones, saying: ‘I believe this thing is a magnet for demonic powers.’

Errr.. There is an app like that. It’s called Google maps.

Every single thing you’re seeing on the game interface is simply an overlay from Google maps that Niantic (the producing company that used to be under google) use to implement the game. If he didn’t know his church has been a pokestop for years but only ingress players knew about them and… Okay, I’ll stop now.

I’m not surprised he thinks it’s demonic though. My mum has been suspicious of pokemon, digimon, bakugan battle brawlers, etc. She has even hinted that she thinks it’s those things that may have allowed for all the “issues” I have.

    The things I hear sometimes.

Me, gamer? That one is up for debate o. All I dedicate myself to is rpgs, trading card games and a bunch of stuff that’s considered lame.

They have said pokemon is demonic since red and blue came out 20 years ago. Yet somehow, I have been unable to see the satanic master plan behind it. I’m probably not strong enough in the spirit to see how encouraging kids to be brave and kind and adventurous, (and getting them to go outside in this particular case) is demonic

Having said that, how does Pokemon go work? I think Le bo likes it and I can’t for the life of me figure out what its about which even makes me feel older and antiquated ??

Its relatively simple. The hidden goal of the game is to encourage people to move around.. Actually walk/run/ride bicycles. The incentive is catching pokemon which spawn in certain real life locations.

Also you need to walk(run) a certain distance to hatch eggs. The distance ranges from 2-10km. Pretty nifty for people who like to run, don’t you think?

However the game is quite buggy so unless you’re a die hard pokemon fan like me (waves Pikachu flag) you might not be able to stand it.

          Augmented reality.

With a Samsung Galaxy s7 cardboard it could be virtual.. It’s in the game’s programming but dunno if it’s implemented yet.

But we already know where the Christians are, on their high horses, in their respective countries.

How about they show us the location of bigots so we can wipe ’em out? Iranu.
