Lady Gaga sets the record straight on those Bradley Cooper rumors

Oscar winner Lady Gaga appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and discussed the Oscar performance that has everyone talking.

Gaga and Bradley Cooper sang Shallow from the original score of the movie, A Star Is Born, nominated in seven categories. The song went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song, for which Gaga gave an emotional speech.

After the incredibly heartfelt musical moment she shared with Cooper, many on social media started speculating on whether the two were having an affair.

Cooper, however, is in a relationship with model Irina Shayk, who was at the Oscars. And Gaga has recently called off her engagement to Christian Carino.

While talking to Kimmel, Gaga shared her thoughts on those rumors.

“Social media, quite frankly, is the toilet of the Internet,” she said. “And what it has done to pop culture is just abysmal.”

Then she explained that what the audience saw was just two professionals singing a love song.

“People saw love and, guess what, that’s what we wanted you to see,” she said. “This is a love song, the movie, A Star Is Born, is a love movie, and we worked so hard.”

She also revealed that the whole performance was staged and directed by Cooper. Gaga further said she’d had her arms wrapped around crooner, Tony Bennett, for three years and that was simply because “when you’re singing love songs, that’s what you want people to feel.”

“I’m an artist and I guess we did a good job, fooled ya!”
