Memers Lament The Impending Ban of Adult Content On Tumblr

Tomorrow – Monday, December 17, 2018 – will be a day that lives in infamy… At least, for people who rely on Tumblr for porn. That’s the day the microblogging site will no longer allow X-rated content on its platform.

Earlier this month, CEO Jeff D’Onofrio ignited a firestorm when he published a blog post alerting people to the change:

“Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, we’ve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change … Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).”

As the fateful day draws nearer, people are growing more and more frantic. Nobody yet knows what will happen when Tumblr goes G-rated, or, more importantly, where they’re going to scratch their pornographic itches from here on out. Only time will tell.
