Kevin Spacey comes out as gay following accusation of sexual assault from actor Anthony Rapp

Star Trek: Discovery actor and Broadway star Anthony Rapp (pictured top left) came forward with claims that Kevin Spacey made sexual advances towards him when he was 14 years old.

Spacey allegedly made a pass at Rapp in 1986 when the two were working together in the Broadway play, Precious Sons, according to an interview he did with BuzzFeed News. At the time, Spacey was 26 years old.

Rapp said that the advances happened after a party at Spacey’s apartment. Spacey picked Rapp up and put him on the bed, climbing on top of him. Rapp said that this was an attempt for Spacey to “seduce” him. “I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually,” he adds.

“My stomach churns,” said Rapp. “I still to this day can’t wrap my head around so many aspects of it. It’s just deeply confusing to me.”

Rapp’s accusations come after the floodgates of sexual harassment and abuse have opened following the Harvey Weinstein scandal. The harassment and abuse goes beyond the acts of the misconduct of men towards women. The accusations include the predation of younger men. Former APA agent Tyler Grasham has been accused by multiple actors of sexual assault including actor Tyler Cornell, who filed a police report accusing him of sodomy. As a result, actor Cameron Boyce fired Grasham as his agent and Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard quit the agency.

The long list of allegations prompted Rapp to come forward “not to simply air a grievance.” Rapp said he wants to shine another light on this behavior that has been allowed. “I’m feeling really awake to the moment that we’re living in, and I’m hopeful that this can make a difference,” he adds.

Hours after Anthony Rapp came forward with his story, Spacey took to Twitter to respond. After apologizing to Rapp, saying he has a lot of respect and admiration for him as an actor, he goes on to say he was “horrified” by the story and does not remember the encounter.

The Twitter post also goes on to address rumors about Spacey’s personal life. “As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women,” he said. “I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose to live as a gay man.”

Was he ever in the closet tho? Also fuck him for using his “coming out”this to deflect from his paedophilia. Because we need that stereotype reconfirmed.

How disgusting. His choice of words are also poor. He mentions hooking up with women and men and then CHOOSING to live a life as a gay man, fortifying a stigma the LGBT community has fought hard to dismantle. Not only that, but pedophilia and homosexuality are always linked to explain the ‘aberration’ or ‘corruption’ of the mind to not follow heteronormative behavior and the religious standard of being in a man/woman relationship.

This statement is a rushed desperate attempt to be looked as innocent at the cost of the gay community. It only proves that he is, in fact, a piece of garbage.

Its shocking this just went mainstream considering the fact there’s been chatter on the web about this man’s abuse and self entitlement to the bodies of those he considers below him for years and drunkenness is never an excuse,it doesn’t invalidate harm caused to other.

Ok if he did then he and his team has to be the dumbest people on the planet meaning there is no way he did that first of all the shelf life of an actor or an entertainer in general is your marketability to the masses which in turn is dependent on public goodwill why would he want to turn the public against him in this political climate where social justice warriors are looking for any chance to tear people who they consider toxic to society, and I might also add Harvey Weinstein is way more powerful than Kevin spacey who isn’t as dependent on public goodwill guess what his career is shot to hell, anyways Kevin spacey is done and age is also a factor that has worked against no casting director would go near him

This is an enabling comment and excuses his behaviour, and also this is why a lot of victims don’t come out cause they get blamed for what the perpetrator committed and you do realise a 27 year was propositioning a 14 year old kid who looked 11 years old if I might add and you think that’s okay? Do better and say no to any form of sexual perversion and lastly its harder for men to cop up to being sexually harassed due to perpetuation of toxic masculinity in society
