There’s A Straight Pride Parade Intended To Happen In America, And People Are Reacting
The city of Boston will likely be holding a Straight Pride parade in August thanks to the work of a far-right group called Super Happy Fun America.
According to its website, Super Happy Fun America wants to “celebrate the diverse history, culture, and contributions of the straight community.”
The group consists of three members: President John Hugo and Vice President Mark Sahady, who identify as heterosexual, and “Gay Ambassador” Chris Bartley, who identifies as gay. Bartley reportedly said he is working to bring “Straight Pride” to Boston in an effort to “showcase how extreme the left has become.”
“My motivation to participate in this year’s Straight Pride is to make the far left realize how insane they have become and how overarching they are,” he said.
The website for the proposed event reads: “Straight people are an oppressed majority. We will fight for the right of straights everywhere to express pride in themselves without fear of judgment and hate. We want the same parade route as the Boston Pride Parade [and] the same accommodations given for the LGBTQ+ parade.”
The city of Boston has issued a permit for the parade and it’s led to some pretty amazing responses online.
Captain America himself, Chris Evans, had a pretty pitch-perfect takedown of the whole charade. The actor and older brother of out actor Scott Evans wrote: “Wow! Cool initiative, fellas!! Just a thought, instead of ‘Straight Pride’ parade, how about this: The ‘desperately trying to bury our own gay thoughts by being homophobic because no one taught us how to access our emotions as children’ parade? Whatta ya think? Too on the nose??”

He also retweet-commented on the tweet of a straight ally criticizing the event.
Wow, the number gay/straight pride parade false equivalencies are disappointing. For those who don’t understand the difference, see below. Instead of going immediately to anger(which is actually just fear of what you don’t understand)take a moment to search for empathy and growth https://t.co/e98K0Z150T

Activist and author Dylan Marron also responded to this moment in warped reality:

Other responses include:
i'm totally fine with Boston having a Straight Pride parade, provided:
1) LGBTQIA+ people can attend & be oblivious to straightness & treat it like a random party event
2) there's a mock protester brigade with bullhorns, yelling how all straight people are going to burn in hell

Doesn’t Boston have a straight pride parade every time the Patriots win a Super Bowl?

Here are some of the people attending the Boston Straight Pride Parade, including a @Yankees fan.
How am I supposed to explain his orientation to kids? It’s unnatural, and not God’s plan. pic.twitter.com/qVGoSA0B2m

America will never stop being stupid and the fact Boston is going to have "Straight Pride" proves that once again. pic.twitter.com/CoYI7BEZpN

PLEASE let Boston have a Straight Pride Parade. Imagine the fucking content that will come from this, the memes, the news coverage, the cringe. This is literally a GIFT to fags, accept the gift girls.

the straight pride parade in boston should have a completely straight parade route, i thought i'd save them some time by drawing one pic.twitter.com/afbUi8mtnu

The best part about the "straight pride parade" in Boston is that a bunch of gay people can just show up and march in the parade and then the three guys who arranged this absurd event just look like three guys marching in a gay pride parade.

They're planning a "straight pride" parade in Boston, presumably to commemorate that historic moment when courageous heterosexual frat bros finally stood up to the gay cops who had been harassing and arresting them for decades.

Boston already has Straight Pride; it’s called St. Patrick’s Day and there’s even a parade.

June 07, 08:50The comments are just hilarious. The one about the straight route really got me. Well, freedom of expression. It’s quite annoying though esp since it’s pride month but hey, we preach live and let live, so by all means let them knock themselves out

June 07, 10:42This is just beyond stupid.
Do they know the idea behind Pride? Do they have an inkling as to why people march, with colorful flags and worded placards, and it’s representation? Do they understand, intricately, the political statement behind the rally? Do they think, if given a choice, we would want to politicise our rights as individuals? DO THEY UNDERSTAND THAT PRIDE IS OURS AND CAN’T BE ADOPTED BY THE SAME SECT WE HAVE, ALL OUR LIVES, BEEN PROVING SOME KIND OF POINT TO!?
This is beyond stupid and it’s sad that America is the one to kickstart it. Very disappointing.

June 07, 18:51When Magaret Atwood wrote about this 34 years ago , we thought she was just an over imaginative hag ….now it’s playing up before our very eyes.
Totalitarianism is upon us *
First the abortion debacle , now this …what next , a white history month ?
There is this psychic lady I follow on Instagram…..she had a lot to say about Trump’s second tenure .
She said that there will be so much chaos and angst that Trump will be forced to modify some of his decisions …but then the damage must have been done.
I have no reason to doubt her , almost everything she’s predicted thus far has happened…. XXXTentacion death , Nipsy Hussle’s murder , mass homicides , bombings….. even minuscule things like Drake’s tattoo and Cardi B’s marriage and pregnancy .
Brace yourselves folks …we are in for some bumpy ride .
If there’s ever a time to apply the word -caution ; it’s now .
The much touted land of freedom is quickly becoming a farce .
