Cookie Lyon Is Time Magazine’s Most Influential Fictional Character Of 2015

Empire’s empire lives on!Cookie

While viewership may be dropping, influence has not when it comes to Lee Daniels’ hit Fox drama and its lead character, Cookie Lyon. Time Magazine has just released a list of the 16 Most Influential Fictional Characters of 2015 and right at the top is Mrs. Lyon, played by our favorite ’round the way girl, Taraji P. Henson.

Time wrote:

‘With her high-drama scheming and higher-drama wardrobe, the Lyon family matriarch (played by Taraji P. Henson) was the biggest draw on TV’s most popular new show, Empire, luring more than 13 million viewers a week. In addition to spawning countless memes and catchphrases, she also helped inspire a clothing line at Saks Fifth Avenue. As Cookie herself said, “That’s my name. Take a bite.”

It’s worth noting that Cookie is the only Black character on the list, making her position in the top spot all the more sweet. Plus, after the way Taraji had her girls’ backs at the Emmys, she deserved another accolade of her own. Congrats boo!tumblr_nvcx7yIszs1rk74v1o1_400

Well maybe this will give the show a ratings boost. Tbh Cookie is not so much a ground breaking character for me, she is just like the stereotypical black woman who I have seen in several movies and shows.

I love you so much my heart aches, Cookie! It’s a position well deserved to say the least.
PP you would have at least given us the whole list to chew on na. Well, while you ponder on when to drop the list, I’d just go somewhere to have a bite of my chocolate-nuggetted Cookie.
    Ciao

So, I went through the list and realised that it was for fictional characters all round. Me I thought Ultron would be more influential than ‘sadness’ what is that sef?
For TV shows Cookie would still take the lead. Dennis CAN IT. Hmmmmp

I think Poot Lovato should’ve been #1. Followed by Sadness and why isn’t Rayna Boyanov from Spy on this list, she’s the ultimate role model to bitches with daddy issues world wide.
