I’ve checked him out. It appears to be his real account. It’s got loads of personal pictures n stuff. No one takes the time to enrich a catfish account with his life if he has a real account elsewhere

      Coming out helps with visibility.
Visibility helps with people knowing you exist.
      People knowing facilitates acceptance.
      So there. That’s the point.

A few months ago, a man (Akin) was murdered on the streets because of his sexuality. I have heard of at least 4 young men who have committed suicide because they felt rejected by the society in which the live. The rejection and discrimination against the LGBT is even entrenched in Nigerian law, on other words, people have the right to report you to the police and you can be tried and jailed because of your sexuality. And there have been countless gory tales about the inhuman treatment meted out by society because of this one thing they do not accept, many stories have ended with murder. So yes, acceptance has got something to do with everything, life itself for the LGBT Nigerian.
