How To Get Away With Murder’s Jack Falahee Not Worried About Being Typecast In Gay Roles

Jack Falahee, who plays gay law student Connor Walsh on ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder, says that he’s not worried about being typecast in gay roles.

Peter Nowalk, who created the Shonda Rhimes executive produced show, previously said that Murder would not shy away from showing gay sex because “it’s part of life.”

In the show’s pilot, Connor is seen picking up, then bedding Oliver (played by Conrad Ricamora), an informant for a murder case. In subsequent episodes, Connor and Oliver appear to be developing a relationship.

“I think that all the sex scenes in the show are plot driven and/or character based,” Falahee told Attitude. “Connor is at times driven by his sexual appetite, like many people in this world. He just happens to be gay.”

“I really didn’t think twice about playing a character that is gay,” the 25-year-old Falahee added. “I was just excited to audition because Pete Nowalk wrote a compelling, smart and engaging pilot with real, multi-faceted characters.”

D script nd storyline should b what that matters! Sexuality should b secondary. I don’t really mind, as long as he has those beards on(major turn on!).

Sweetheart type casting is a big issue in Hollywood! After a gay man comes out and plays a major gay character, the producers become cautious of casting him as a leading man because the think the audience may not buy it.

      Chris Colfer etc are examples

Darren Chris is actually straight or so he says. But then again there is always an exception to the rule. Neil Patrick Harris played a straight player on how i met your mother for 8seasons and did so incredibly well.
Still typecasting is still a major issue in Hollywood.

Why would any serious actor want to be typecast in any one role? Where then lies his talent? #GenuinelyConfused

He plays the role well, and I appreciate the gay storylines but I am beginning to think Shonda and her team are beginning to go a little overboard with the gay scenes esp in the recent Scandal season. There are way more gay sex scenes in HTGAWM than straight ones. I am gay but come on! Almost like they wanna shove it down peoples throats.

Anyway, Jack Falahee is cute and I want him to fuck the hell out of the other law student guy, not the black one, the other prison guard one from Orange is the new black – dude has a fat ass! I want him to shove his cock down his throat so deep he gags and stop him from talking shit on that show for once…

This is my SHOW! Well, its the only drama airing right now that I’m following. Quite gripping. The gay sex scenes are not more than the straight ones…the sexuality shouldn’t even matter; its what it brings to the table and how it carries the plot.
