Sam Smith Regrets Falling In Love With His Ex
Sam Smith hasn’t had the best of luck in the love department, and he opened up about his ex at the Golden Globes.
When an interviewer asked him if his ex regretted breaking his heart, Sam came back with an answer that makes him the poster-child for every gay boy who’s ever gone through some heartbreak:
“It was my fault. I fell in love with him. I shouldn’t have done that.”
And, of course, he followed up with the line that’s uttered so often after a breakup that it’s almost a cliché:
“We’re still friends. It’s all good.”
We’re not exactly sure if he’s talking about ex Jonathan Zeizel or another guy he was slightly less public with, though he has said that posting the photos with Zeizel on Instagram was a mistake:
“I made a mistake by posting pictures of us on Instagram and making it seem more serious than it was. I’ve learned that I need to hold off before I start getting the public involved.”
However, he does say in that interview that the Ziezel breakup wasn’t major, so our guess is that the last major heartbreak was with someone he decided not to introduce to the world.
Career-wise, Smith has little to cry about. Though he is technically on a “break” from his music career, he still found the time to record the theme song to Spectre and picked up a Golden Globe for his trouble.
Honestly, if bad luck in love leads to music as good as In The Lonely Hour, we hope that men are lining up to break his heart for years to come.

Suck it up sam. Nothing good comes from airing your heartbreak for the world’s consumption. Rather talk to family and close friends who can actually help

January 17, 07:01Why do you people keep attacking him for what are clearly his responses o posed questions. and yet, no one is slinging any shots at hetero celebrities who speak candidly about their own failed relationships. Nawa o.

January 17, 07:14Darling heteros have it bad too…just ask britney or taylor swift or halle berry or even brad pitt.
Mouthing your private life to the world is never helpful. Thats y celebrities always dodge questions on their private life

January 17, 07:22I don’t know how you people remain friends with your Exs! Waawu! If we break up I don’t know you and none of my friends is allowed to talked to you ever again.
Meanwhile I agree with him on the IG thingy! Keep your relationships private! Don’t gush on BBM especially when he is not doing the same for you.

January 17, 07:43Have you noticed something about non-celebs?
After gushing about their relationship on social media, they hardly announce their break up.?
Sad, really sad.

January 17, 08:18So sad! They don’t keep us updated!
But then again some of them are so good to us, and they write;
“We love, we hurt, we heal and we move on”
On their PMs!
Biko who wants an invite to my tea party this morning?

January 17, 09:42I don’t know why people be killing themselves over something when they could easily help the situation. Sam, you haven’t been lucky in the LOVE department, Delle hasn’t either…what does that show? We are meant for each other!
And that’s for Kere who actually thought (maybe still thinks) I hate Sam Smith…
Boys aint loyal. The moment you declare you love them especially when they’ve been the one doing the ‘pursuing’, they enter ‘retract mode’. More or less like wanting to make up for all those times spent in chyking you. Should I not play hard to get again just cos I know you’d have it in you to revenge when love finally gets a hold of me? Maybe one shouldn’t be out with the way he feels, maybe we should just numb our feelings. I really do not know why it’s like this…they chyke you, u fall and they leave you hanging.
That’s more cruel than homophobia.

January 17, 13:04There’s no time to play hard to get in the gaybourhood. Hard to get is for umuaka. If you like someone, tell them, if they don’t feel the same way, look for another. If someone likes you and approaches you, if you feel the same way, why waste their time with “playing hard to get”?

January 17, 13:45Really? A little attitude hurts no one na. Besides, you don’t wanna come off as desperate (I think)
Pink Panther
January 17, 13:54Come off as desperate because you said yes to the interest of a guy without first doing shakara? What are you, a woman? Isn’t part of being gay so that we don’t get bogged down by the rules that govern the heterosexual relationships?
