Ode To Brown Eyes
She has a name she is known by but
I call her Kayefi Osha
Because that’s what she is to me
A mysterious deity
*
No one is perfect but she is near it
Her swaying hips, that speaks of a rich Yoruba heritage
Her moving hands, forever telling a story
Her laughing voice that reeks of kindness and innocence
And her eyes…
*
Those bold beautiful brown eyes…
They captivate me
The way they light up when she speaks passionately
The way they twinkle when you sync with her
The way, they close when she soaks in music
The astounding color of a sleeping defiance
*
A shade of brown that colors my destiny
I lose myself in her
When I look into them, we are entwined
We become a dance
We become a perfect song
*
I don’t want to do this
I don’t want to sit here and worship her with my keyboard
I don’t want to admit to anything
I want to sit back and deny her existence
Or at least deny her importance
But I can’t and so I write
I write because it is necessary
This is my Ode to Brown Eyes.

January 30, 12:34The way you write about feminine beauty, Ife…
It almost makes me want to indulge.
Almost.
Then I remember my love for Tyson Beckford and I come back to my senses. 🙂
