Dustin Lance Black has no time for all the hate coming at him and husband Tom Daley over baby news

Dustin Lance Black has responded to the hateful comments over his decision to start a family.

The screenwriter and his husband, Tom Daley, announced their decision to start a family on Valentine’s Day with a social media post of the couple holding an ultrasound of their first child.

The announcement was met with backlash from social media users, as well as a Daily Mail columnist who penned a homophobic op-ed in which he asked readers to “pass the sick bag” and said gay parenting was “not normal.”

Now, Dustin Lance Black has responded to the hate in a tweet saying he is focusing on “strength and love.”

He wrote: “My reaction to others’ hate, bigotry & misinformation will not include anger or hate. For me, the path forward is lit with curiosity, listening, correcting the record when possible, and best as I can, leading with an example of strength & love.”

Alongside the tweet, Black shared a photo of the couple swimming and forming a heart shape with their arms. The Oscar winner’s response was praised by other social media users and retweeted by husband Tom Daley.

Meanwhile, several brands have ended their partnership with the Daily Mail over the homophobic article written by Richard Littlejohn, which slammed the couple and called their announcement a “publicity stunt”.
