Ja Rule calls 50 Cent a ‘power bottom’ in bizarre rant
Ja Rule has called 50 Cent a ‘power bottom’ in a bizarre series of tweets.
It all started with a reference to 50 Cent as ‘tickle booty’.
Reigniting an almost 20 year-long feud, Ja Rule also tweeted: ‘I’m confused as to why ppl think 50 cent is tough?’
Then in a follow-up tweet, he says: ‘I really don’t see why ppl like 50 cent aka #Powerbottom he hates on any black man or woman having success… he hates on Diddy on Jay on Empire cmon how you beefing with Taraji??? #ticklebooty’
And in a later tweet: ‘Now I know why 50 cent named his show POWER… #Powerbottom #ticklebooty’
He then began retweeting people agreeing with his new nickname for 50 Cent.
50 Cent has claimed their feud started when Ja Rule incorrectly accused him of stealing his jewellery and brought it to the attention of Irv Gotti, the founder of Murder Inc. Records. But Ja Rule says it started after a video shoot together where he felt disrespected.
In response to the tweets, many people commented on the homophobic messaging of his tirade. The homophobic undertone of mocking men who have receptive anal sex is clear and many pointed it out.
Gay CNN political commentator Keith Boykin wrote in response on Twitter: ‘I don’t mind if Ja Rule and 50 Cent want to beef, but can we please do it without all the sexist and homophobic language?’
Another person tweeted: ‘Ja Rule makes it so hard to enjoy my early 00’s tunes, why default to homophobia to defame 50 cent?’
50 Cent is yet to respond to the tweets.
