The Facility Directory For Our Community Is Now Available

Earlier this year in June, we made a post requesting for your participation in helping with a project being conducted by Center for Health Education and Vulnerable Support (CHEVS), a project that was about putting together all the facilities that cater to the health needs of Key Populations such as LGBTQI persons, Sex workers, people who use drugs and Persons Living with HIV (PLHIV) into a directory. The objective of this directory is to make access to healthcare easier for PLHIV and other key populations, to create direct contact to facilities that provide services such as HIV testing and treatment, counselling, STD treatment, chryotherapy etc, so that members of these key populations can not only easily access these facilities, but can get to the services without any delays or confidentiality breach brought on by third party connections.

The directory – known as the Key Population Healthcare Facility Directory – has now been launched; it by no means comprises of an exhaustive list of facilities in Nigeria, but it does contain verified information for these service providers in all the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.

To access it so you can be informed on the health facilities in your area, send an email to kitodiaries@gmail.com or info@chevs.org. The document isn’t made available for download in order to protect the privacy of some of the facilities.

I’d like to extend a hearty “Thank You” to everyone who participated in this exercise to enable this information being made available to our communities.
