“I’m Trying To Work On Myself.” Post-Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon Says He’s Been Practising Celibacy

Mariah Carey may have bounced back from her split from Nick Cannon to find love again with billionaire boyfriend, James Packer, but Cannon says he’s taking a break from dating and doing some work on himself. That work includes taking a break from sex. So despite the people you may have heard that Cannon has been seen with or heard he’s been hanging around with within the last year (Amber Rose, Nicole Murphy, etc.), his attention is on his kids and himself.

Cannon shared all this while sitting down on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. When DeGeneres asked Cannon if he’d met Carey’s new man, Cannon said that he hadn’t, but would like to soon enough.

“I haven’t, I want to, though. I think that would be cool. It’s still like, we’ve all talked about it and stuff. It seems like it’s cool.”

But when asked if he was out here looking for love, Cannon said that was the last thing on his mind. “I’m not ready for that. I’m not. You going to hook me up with somebody, Ellen?”

When DeGeneres insisted that he had to be out here getting his mack on, the 35-year-old Chiraq star insisted that he just has friends and nothing more. No fooling around of any sort, including sex. “I’m being celibate. I’m trying to work on myself. No sex right now.”

He continued, “I mean I have friends, and we hang out, but I’m not ready to do anything seriously, especially because I’m really trying to make sure I can establish being in my kids life and working. I’m always so busy, so if I’m not working, they’re my number one priority.”
