Hozier Calls Out Pope Francis On Hypocrisy, Says Church Offers Excuse For Homophobia
“This is one of the paradoxes and weird hypocrisy of that organization. The Pope came out last year and said who am I to judge with regards to somebody’s sexual orientation? But I think it is important to differentiate between lip service towards something and actually making change. I think it is hopeful, but saying this in 2015, ‘Who am I to judge?’ is something that should have been said 100 years ago. I think there’s a difference when actual doctrine changes and policy changes – but it’s still undeniably an organization that has institutionalized an aversion to homosexuality. In my view, that is why I was driven to write ‘Take Me to Church’ — I think the church provides an excuse for homophobia.”
— Pop star Hozier, who has a massive hit last year with Take Me to Church, told Larry King that Pope Francis is a hypocrite on LGBT issues and utters pro-gay soundbites while changing little.

November 08, 05:18If He condems you, you’ll call him out as a homophobe…now he says he doesn’t condemn you, and you call him out as a Hypocrite.

November 08, 07:02I agree with him somewhat! The Pope only pays lip service to the matter and meeting Kim Davis secretly and allegedly telling her to “be strong”?
I have gotten off the Pope Francis Bus!
This is my opinion, what do I know anyway

November 08, 09:10This is a classic example of damned if you do and damned if you don’t. But anyway he is right about the Pope being a hypocrite, the whole Catholic church system functions on hypocrisy and smokescreens .
There’s absolutely nothing genuine abt it, its an institution where paganism, and idol worship are the norm, and it is the perfect platform for encouraging and proliferating homosexuality with its celibacy nonsense . This is probably why the average rev father and priest is a pervert, the average nun, an angry lesbian, and the average Catholic has gay tendencies

By the way average is the modal value. Since less than 10% of people are gay I doubt what you’ve said about Catholics is true. I guess you’re just unwinding.

November 08, 16:04Remind me again, why does the Pope need to support gay rights?

November 08, 18:43y’all should stop saying that nonsense…. Hozier is 100% right …. If the pope wants to support it, let him do so 100% jaré… if not then let him be against it 100%… he’s just causing more problem by sitting in his virginity fence…
