    1. I agree with you, but I think they just want to draw attention to the story because if you see “Marries lover” you just may pass.

Desmond Tutu matches his words with actions! Bravo!

    2. It’s called sensationalism, Max. The word to grab your attention has to be used. Even PP is guilty of that with some of his titles.

    3. i actually prefer “partner” to “lover”. i’d definitely prefer call my significant other my partner instead of lover… i agree that “gay” or “lesbian” adjective before it is very unnecessary though and only serves to sensationalize the information.

    4. I think he is worth congratulating cos the blacks in south africa are just as homophobic (if not worse) as those in nigeria. Even in SA where being gay shld be like breathing cos of their constitution, u hear pple being murdered for being gay and lesbian being raped.

Sometimes I think homophobia is more a black thing

    5. Excommunicate, ke? The archbishop has been outspoken about gay rights for decades. He once said, “I’d rather go to hell than to a homophobic heaven.” Also, the Anglican Church of South Africa is largely liberal; they’re not in impaired communion from England with most other countries in Africa.

  1. This man have always had my respect.. Congrats to the newly weds..

Oh and btw, I hate it when tabloids use terms like “gay partner”, ” lesbian partner ” instead of lover or heartthrob etc. I wonder when they’re going to realize that two men or two women can fall in love.

I never see them write “partner” when talking about straight people.

  2. I don’t know why you all are congratulating Rev. Tutu as he isn’t the one getting married. I’ll only thank him for raising a child like his daughter and setting an example to parents worldwide on how to be a supportive father.

    Shrug.

  3. I will still marry my tall, slim, waif like European husband with washboard abs and blonde hair and my Mum will be in attendance!

    You just watch!

  4. Congratulations to the couple. This will be me someday. Maybe not in Nigeria, but I’ll definitely get married to a man!

  5. Father mbaka where are u oo…pls my wedding to my boo is next week. cum n grace the occassion with ur presence. Thanks

  6. This is awesome. The couple look so happy and Archbishop more so.?

But sadly this means the Rev is no longer a Christian and the Archbishop emeritus may be ex-communicated for supporting his daughter.

    Sad time, such sad times??

  7. Wow! I don’t even know what to say, I’m so speechless.

Wait, they are South Africans, ryt? How’s that news na? Afterall, gay marriage has been legalised there aeons ago. Of course, Tutu should be cool with it.

When is Mugabe’s son getting married to his hunky porn star? Please PP, endeavour to share
