‘Glory’, A New Pride Song?
There have been many songs out recently that we have used to find solace and confidence in who we are. From The Greatest Showman’s This Is Me to Troye Sivan’s Bloom, music has been helping LGBT individuals on their journeys to inner peace and self acceptance.
John Legend’s Glory came out in 2015 as part of the soundtrack that accompanied the movie, Selma. And it wasn’t until I listened to this cover of it, did I suddenly realize the magic in its lyrics, in such lyrics like:
One day when the glory comes / It will be ours, it will be ours / Oh one day when the war is won / We will be sure, we will be sure / Oh glory (Glory, glory) / Oh (Glory, glory)
Download the cover HERE and have a listen, and dwell on how one day, the glory will be ours.
Happy Pride, everyone!

I love the original version of that song, thanks for adding more context.
I fell madly in love with the original song after watching Selma and seeing it performed at the Oscars. Especially loved how David Oyelowo cried at the end of the performance. It’s a great, passionate song for all shades of freedom fighters.
