Supergirl had the best response to viewer who asked the show to ‘tone down the homosexual messages’.

If you weren’t aware, Alex Danvers (played by Chyler Leigh) and Maggie Sawyer (played by Floriana Lima) are an item on the show and perhaps the most adorable same-sex couple on TV right now.

But one mother was angry the couple were being intimate on screen.

‘Please tone down the homosexual messages,’ she said. ‘Used to watch this with my daughter’s [sic] now I have to explain to a 7 and 10 y.o. thx.’

But Supergirl’s official Twitter account had the perfect response.

They said: ‘Good, explain to them that love is love and it’s beautiful no matter where you find it and who you find it with. #Sanvers #Supergirl’

The tweet has been retweeted over 8,000 times and liked over 15,000 times.
