No more Brangelina? Say it ain’t so. Angelina Jolie reportedly files for divorce from Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie has reportedly filed for divorce from Brad Pitt.
TMZ reports that legal documents filed by Jolie cite irreconcilable differences between the couple. The date of separation listed by Angelina in the papers is September 15, 2016.
The pair have been together since 2004 and got married in August 2014, despite promising to wait until after same-sex marriage was legalized across the US – which took place a year later in June 2015. The Hollywood power couple have six adopted and biological children together.
Angelina’s attorney Robert Offer has confirmed news of the split.
“This decision was made for the health of the family,” Offer said in a statement. “She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”
Her now estranged husband Brad Pitt subsequently told People: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
