So following the Sony email hack which revealed that the studio bosses are considering Idris Elba to play 007 when Daniel Craig’s contract elapses, there has been quite a furor over the possible decision, both for and against Elba as an appropriate casting choice.

Anyway, if and when Elba plays James Bond, he’s asked that we not do the THING where we call him the first black James Bond. He pointed out on his Reddit AMA that we didn’t call Sean Connery the Scottish James Bond, or Daniel Craig the blue-eyed James Bond. I’m with him on that, but I do know he will definitely get that label, whether he likes it or not.
