The fascination with gay people is real when it comes to the Nigerian Police. All you have to do is look like you fit any of the thousand gay stereotypes, and you’re guilty of homosexuality.
Be slim and clad in skinny jeans. Gay.
Wear earrings and/or nose rings. Gay.
And apparently, be a male model. Gay.
A Nigerian with the Twitter handle @daeveess recently took to twitter to narrate how he was arrested by the police simply because he told them he was a fashion model.
The homophobic ignorance prevalent among these uniformed people who are supposed to protect and serve never ceases to amaze. But hey, let’s not forget that the (Nigerian) Police is Your Friend.

But why search through someone’s phone? It’s inappropriate. I thought Lagos is a fashionable city, so someone should look good abi? They prefer to see people unkempt and suffering, what a shame.
