Woman Receives Nasty Note From Neighbour Over Her “Relentlessly Gay” Rainbow Yard Lights

relentlessly gay 1When Julie Baker, a widow and mother of four from Baltimore, thought it would be a good idea to add some color to her yard by way of some solar lamps. The result was this work of beauty (pic above).

Not everyone agrees though, one of her neighbours in particular. And so, Julie Baker stepped out onto her front porch one day, and found an anonymous note taped to her door. The incredibly hilarious faith-based note read:relentlessly gay 2

“Your yard is becoming Relentlessly Gay! Myself and others in the neighborhood ask that you Tone It Down. This is a Christian area and there are Children. Keep it up and I will be Forced to call the Police on you! Your kind need to have Respect for GOD.”

It was signed, “A Concerned Home Owner.”

Yes… we must protect the children from the evil, wicked lamps! They’re relentlessly committing sodomy… or something like that.

Rather than get angry, Baker doubled up her efforts to beautify her home. She launched a GoFundMe page to fight back. On her page, she writes:

‘Needless to say…  I need more rainbows… Many, many more rainbows….

‘So, I am starting this fundraiser so I can work to make my Home even More “relentlessly gay”  If we go high enough, I will see if I can get a Rainbow Roof!

‘Because my invisible relentlessly gay rainbow dragon should live up there in style!

‘Put simply, I am a widow and the mother of four children, my youngest in high school and I WILL NOT Relent to Hatred. Instead, I will battle it with whimsy and beauty and laughter and love, wrapped around my home, yard and family!!!

‘Thanks for your relentlessly gay support!

‘Relentlessly!!!’

She set a fundraising goal of $5,000. So far, she’s raised more than $10,000 $15,000 $20,000 and counting. That’s gonna buy a shit-ton of rainbows.

Overzealous Christians… They’re the worst kind.
    I like the Lady’s response..
People like TefO and angel Gadriel would’ve probably taken the neighbor’s advice to “tone it down”..

    Lmaooooo!

    Like seriously?

Who knew solar lamps were same sex or were ogling each other, giving cat calls or downright having anal sex right in d front yard! The horror!

I think that neighbor needs to write that letter to him/herself. They are so gay nd closeted that d thought or rainbow lamps hanging nd shining freely spurs them to jealous rage! Inukwa! How can lamps b free nd I can’t! If I can’t b free, they can’t! Nonsense!

Lol…I find it hard to believe this story. Could someone actually be so stupid to think that a woman with four children is a lesbian, because she likes bright colours(as most women do)? I have my doubts…

so having kids is the defining factor of sexuality. and here I was thinking it was who you are attracted to

I didn’t imply that having kids defines ur sexuality…but having lamps doesn’t,either.

You really think there are people who aren’t pushed by their bias to do things that would look foolish, stupid or absurd to one observing?

@PP: I guess there are ppl like that, but I find it very foolish. If it were a man, I’d have understood a bit better, but this is a woman; I thought they generally are allowed to like bright colours. It’s just like a woman in a colour-blocking attire, coming to say that someone accused her of being a lesbian because she had too many bright(and feminine) colours on her outfit.

I wonder if Christians remember the rainbow is God’s creation and that it actually means a convenant to Christians.. Can’t they focus in that and stop feeling like all rainbow’s are evil/gay.

Do you think the writer is a representative of christians? Can a christian even do that? Christians as I know are not given to faceless activism.

Biko.. My comment isn’t a bid to put Christians down or anything so your questions are a bit unnecessary. But I’ll hazard an answer.. I’m pretty sure the owner of the note fancies himself a Christian if not he wouldn’t use the argument of their Street being Christian. Is he a true Christian or not? No idea.
