Having pride isn’t about ego or power or being vain. It’s about loving yourself, and loving yourself warts and all, and the best way to let someone else in to love you as well.
And as we take a positive stance against discrimination and violence toward LGBT people; to promote self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights, increase visibility as a social group, build community, and celebrate sexual diversity and gender variance; remember (or learn) how this month started and find ways to reflect this in (subtle, if not) strong ways in your immediate environment.
